Trifolium and Canopolis
OUR SANCTUARY
OUR SANCTUARY
Since 1998, the Trifolium Foundation has managed Canopolis, an animal refuge in the Garraf Natural Park, on a 3.5-hectare estate. In Canopolis, our animals live in a run free environment, are fed with natural diets, and are treated by combining conventional medicine with natural therapies (acupuncture, Bach Flowers, homeopathy, herbal medicine and Reiki). In these years, the foundation has worked to make it a reference for animal protection in the widest sense of the word. It is a unique and pioneering project that seeks innovative ways to increase the welfare of animals. Canopolis is not only a shelter, but is a platform for dissemination of methods that are developed in the field of care and health of animals.
The main purpose of the foundation is to set an example and inspire other projects, entities, and individuals to the benefit of animals in general.
Canopolis is a holistic project that includes everything around it fauna, flora and the overall environment. The refuge is integrated in the natural surroundings in a harmonious way that also promotes the use of microorganisms, the recycling of rainwater and the use of solar energy.
Do you want to visit Canópolis? On Sunday mornings Trifolium volunteers offer guided visits to Canópolis. To come and visit the shelter, please fill out the following form. Thank you!
raising awareness of the future generation
Humanimal Kids is a project that Trifolium has carried out since 2006 with the collaboration of Fundación Faada (since 2012) to raise awareness and encourage philanthropy among the youngest. The goal is to transmit values of respect, protection and conservation through the Canopolis Club for Children.
CANOPOLIS CLUB FOR CHILDREN
The club is a program designed for children to become aware of animals and nature. As young patrons, they financially support Trifolium projects while, by participating in club activities, learning about animal and environmental protection, such as solutions to reduce abandonment, abuse, or the distruction of natural spaces.
VOLUNTEERING FOR CHILDREN
If your child is a member of the Canópolis Club for Children, they can participate in the monthly volunteer days that are designed so that they can learn about the problem of animal abandonment, and help in the basic care of the animals that live in Canópolis. This expereince is useful to learn respect and empathy towards animals and the environment. Recycling, renewable energies, conservation of habitats and wild species are other topics that are covered in some of the workshops included in these days.
